A Racial Healing, Antiracism Podcast

The Four R’s of a Racial Reckoning

Dan Berry – August 19, 2021

Hey friends,

As we continue our journey laying out a simple strategy for our first steps into antiracism, let’s talk about what a “Racial Reckoning” is.

“Reckoning” is defined as the action or process of evaluating something.

As we have struggled with the racial division we continue to experience, I think we have all awakened to the reality that something is horribly wrong.

If you are faced with your own internal battle about these issues, but don’t know what steps to take, I invite you to join us on our journey.

In the Bridge Building Solutions Podcast, we have been looking at the 4 R’s of said Reckoning.

RELATIONSHIP

REMEMBER

REPENT

REPAIR

Could these 4 R’s offer us a path — a path that would open the door for new thinking — a path that might launch us into our first steps of actually participating in the healing that is so needed? I hope you will join us and decide for yourself.

We are talking about hard things, but not in a way that will make you feel judged, but rather enlightened.

We must grow in our understanding of race/ism and nothing will speed up that process more than an open heart — a heart willing to learn.
